Ford won’t be letting just anyone purchase one of their new GT supercars, in fact, previous owners of the earlier models will be getting first dibs on the matter. Ford has setup a specialized ordering process in where one must first apply to buy the $400,000 vehicle. The applications have yet to be released on their website. Only 250 Ford GT’s will be rolling out of the factory at release time. We are expecting the ordering process to be very involved considering the numbers, allowing the customization of the Ford GT to meet the wants of the customers.
As for the application itself, it will ask quite a few questions. The questions will consist of how often the potential customer will drive the Ford GT, and how active they are on social media. From these questions we have gathered that Ford is apparently seeking for their new cars to get exposure after they have been released. You can’t blame the company for wanting to show off their newest monster of a vehicle, even if its through their customers.
The Ford GT puts out over 600 horsepower with its 3.5L Ecoboost V6 engine. Despite only being a V6, it isn’t anything less of a supercar. Its carbon fiber construction and narrow cabin make the GT incredibly light. The reason Ford decided to put a V6 rather than a V10 in this low lying car was because they did not want the weight of the extra cylinders. The new rounded lights in the back actually have an opening in the middle which guides the airflow through. The 2017 GT is sure to have some proud owners come release time.
